Ne esistono di diverse specie: la menta piperita, la mentuccia, la menta romana, la menta acquatica, menta longifolia, ecc…è un ottimo rimedio nei disturbi gastrointestinali, grazie alle sue proprietà digestive, le proprietà sedative ed antiematiche la rendono un ottimo rimedio per il mal d'auto, il mal di mare e il mal d'aria e inoltre possiede proprietà antisettiche, antinfiammatorie, antipruriginose, E’ anche usata per regolarizzare il ciclo ed il flusso mestruale e ridurne i dolori.

-foglie di menta (preferibilmente Hierba Buena, che a Cuba cresce spontanea ed è più delicata della menta comune)

Viene servito freddo e ha un sapore decisamente particolare dovuto alla combinazione della freschezza della menta e al gusto deciso del rum.
